Application of Comprehensive Nursing in Elderly Patients with Respiratory Failure Undergoing Mechanical Ventilation

Abstract：Objective:To explore the application effects of comprehensive nursing in elderly patients with respiratory failure mechanical ventilation.Methods:A total of 81 elderly patients with respiratory failure in accordance with the admission were divided into the observation group with 43 cases and the control group with 38 cases.The control group was given the conventional nursing care,while the observation group was given comprehensive nursing care on the basis of the conventional nursing care.The incidence of ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP) and pressure ulcers,mechanical ventilation time,length of stay in ICU time and nursing satisfaction were compared between two groups.Results:The incidence of VAP and pressure ulcer,mechanical ventilation time,ICU hospitalization time and total hospitalization time in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P ＜ 0.05),and the nursing satisfaction of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion:On the basis of routine nursing,comprehensive nursing intervention can effectively reduce the incidence of VAP and pressure sores in elderly patients with mechanical ventilation and improve the satisfaction degree of patients.
