The Correlation Study between Gastrointestinal Symptoms and Quality of Life in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Abstract:Objective:To investigate the relationship between gastrointestinal symptoms and quality of life in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted in 115 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus by using the general information questionnaires,the gastrointestinal symptom rating scale (GSRS),and the quality of life of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(DSQL).Results:Gastrointestinal symptoms in type 2 diabetic patients overall incidence rate was 67%,with dyspepsia and constipation are common.Correlation analysis showed that abdominal pain,dyspepsia,constipation,eating disorders and gastrointestinal symptoms and quality oflife are significandy multidimensional correlation(P < 0.05,P < 0.01).Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that indigestion constipation,and eating disorder symptoms are the main influencing factors on the patients' quality of life (P < 0.05,P < 0.01).Conclusion:Gastrointestinal symptoms in patients with type 2 diabetes are common.We should pay attention to the diabetic patients with gastrointestinal symptoms,positive control of gastrointestinal lesions,formulate corresponding intervention measures,provide targeted health guidelines,and improve the quality of life of patients.
