Application of Intensive Care in Elderly Patients with Severe VAP

Abstract：Objective:To explore the application effects of meticulous nursing care in the elderly patients with severe nursing ventilator associated pneumonia ( VAP) .Methods:A total of 168 cases of elderly patients with severe VAP were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group with 84 cases in each group.The control group received the routine nursing care ,while the observation group re-ceived the intensive care on the basis of the control group.The nursing effects were compared between two groups.Results:The respiratory func-tion indexes of observation group were significantly better than those of control group(P<0.05),and mechanical ventilation time,intensive care and hospitalization time were significantly lower than those of control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Intensive care after mechanical ventilation in elderly patients with severe VAP can effectively improve the respiratory function indexes,reduce mechanical ventilation time and hospital stay.
