Analysis of Factors Affecting the Empty Nester Overal Wel -being in Communities of Shanghai

Abstract：Objective:To explore the influence factors affecting the empty nester overall well -being in communities of Shanghai .Meth-ods:These influencing factors would be surveyed by researches including daily living scale ( ADL) ,positive and negative affect scale ( PA-NAS),social support rating scale and overall well -being scale(GWB),evaluation of community empty nesters .Results:This group of empty nesters′age,satisfaction to the body,ADL,positive emotions,negative emotions,social supports had an impact on the overall well -being.The elders who had normal daily living activities and who reduced overall well -being OR value is 2.445.The elders who had low positive emotion and high positive emotions overall well -being OR value is 0.327,and the elders who had low negative emotion and high negative emotion overall well -being OR value is 5.690.The last one is the elders who had low social support and high social support over-all happiness OR value was 0.459.Conclusion:The community should pay more attention on empty nesters ,by improving their positive e-motions and reduce negative emotion ,social support and other measures to increase their overall well -being.
