Effect of comprehensive nursing intervention on mental state and quality of life of elderly patients with thoracolumbar compression fracture

Abstract:Objective:To explore the effect of comprehensive nursing intervention on mental state and quality of life of elderly patients with thoracolumbar compression fracture.Methods:128 hospitalized elderly patients with thoracolumbar compression fracture were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group(64 cases in each group).The patients in the control group were given routine nursing measures and the comprehensive nursing intervention was additionally implemented in the observation group.VAS,SCL-90 and GQOLI-74 were used to respectively evaluate the degree of pain,psychological status and quality of life of the patients before and after nursing care.Results:VAS score was significantly lower in the observation group than the control group after the intervention( P<0.05);the scores of SCL-90 factors were obviously lower after the intervention than those before the intervention in the observation group( P<0.05),and the scores were significantly lower than the control group after the intervention(P<0.05);the scores of somatic function,psy-chological function and social function of GQOLI-74 increased significantly in the observation group after the intervention(P<0.05),and the scores were significantly higher than the control group after the intervention(P<0.05).Conclusion:The comprehensive nursing inter-vention can effectively relieve the pain of the elderly patients with thoracolumbar compression fracture and can improve the psychological state and quality of life of the patients.
