Effect of progressive relaxation therapy on the postoperative pain of patients with anorectal disease

Abstract:Objective:To investigate the effect of progressive relaxation therapy on the postoperative pain of patients with anorectal disease.Methods:240 patients with anorectal disease were divided into the observation group and the control group (120 cases in each group).The patients in the control group received the routine nursing care and the patients in the observation group received both routine nursing care and progressive relaxation therapy,the visual analogue scale (VAS) and oral assessment method were used to evaluate the degree of pain of the patients.Results:The degree of pain of the patients in the observation group significantly reduced respectively in 24 and 72 hours after operation and the difference was statistically significant compared with that in the control group (P < 0.05).Conclusion:Application of the progressive relaxation therapy in postoperative patients with anorectal diseases has good analgesic effect and the therapy is safe and reliable.
