Application of empowerment health education in self - management of the high risk group of CHD
Abstract：Objective:To explore the application effect of empowerment health education in the self - management of the high risk group of coronary heart disease(CHD). Methods:106 patients with high - risk of CHD were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group(53 cases in each group). The patients in the control group were given traditional health education and the empowerment health education was additionally conducted in the experimental group,the self - management ability of the patients and the indices of high risk factors were compared between the two groups. Results:After intervention for 3 and 6 months,the total score of self - management abil-ity of the patients and the average score of the dimensions were significantly superior in the experimental group to the control group(P ﹤0. 01);the risk indices of coronary heart disease like blood pressure,blood glucose and blood lipid decreased significantly in the experi-mental group compared with the control group(P ﹤ 0. 05). Conclusion:Application of empowerment health education can improve the self- management ability of patients with high risk of CHD and decrease the risk indices.
