Effect of rooming - in bedside intervention on breast feeding of puerpera

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the effect of rooming - in bedside intervention on breast feeding of puerpera. Methods:232 hospital-ized puerpera were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group(116 puerpera in each group). The traditional nurs-ing model was taken in the control group and the rooming - in bedside intervention model was implemented in the observation group,the status of breastfeeding,breastfeeding skills,nursing skills for neonates were compared between the two groups. Results:The time of the first lactation was significantly earlier in the observation group than the control group,lactation frequency,milk adequacy,pure breast feeding rate was obviously higher in the observation group than the control group(P < 0. 01);the baby′s posture when giving breast - feeding,mil-king technique and the score of reliving engorged breast was better in the observation group than the control group(P < 0. 05);the scores of newborn bath,hip nursing,umbilical care,newborn touching were significantly higher in the observation group than the control group(P< 0. 05). Conclusion:The rooming - in bedside intervention model is helpful to improve maternal breastfeeding skills and neonatal nursing skills,promote the secretion of breast milk and improve nursing satisfaction.
