Effect of acupoint massage on the separated puerpera in lactation period after childbirth

Abstract：Objective:To explore the effect of acupoint massage on the separated puerpera in lactation period after childbirth. Methods:115 separated puerpera were randomly divided into the control group(n = 57)and the observation group(n = 58). The routine breast care was given to the puerpera in the control group;the routine breast care combined with acupoint massage was implemented in the observation group. The start time of lactation,the time of sufficient lactation and breast comfort of the puerpera were compared between the two groups. Results:The start time of lactation and the time of sufficient lactation in the observation group were earlier than the control group(P ﹤0. 05);the breast comfort of the puerpera was superior in the observation group to the control group(P ﹤ 0. 05). Conclusion:The routine breast care combined with acupoint massage can effectively make the start time of lactation and the time of sufficient lactation earlier and can relieve the distending pain of breast as well.
