Effect of holistic psychological nursing model on quality of life of patients with idiopathic pulmonary interstitial fibrosis

Abstract：Objective:To explore the effect of holistic psychological nursing model on the quality of life of patients with idiopathic pul-monary fibrosis. Methods:92 patients with idiopathic pulmonary interstitial fibrosis were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group(46 cases in each group). The patients in the control group were given routine nursing care and the holistic psychological nursing model was additionally adopted in the observation group. The pulmonary function and blood gas analysis of the patients were detec-ted and the patients′dyspnea and quality of life were evaluated respectively on admission and after 8 weeks of the nursing intervention. Re-sults:The diffusion capacity of carbon monoxide,the partial pressure of carbon dioxide and the score of dyspnea of the patients were lower after 8 weeks than those on admission in the control group(P ﹤ 0. 05);the partial pressure of oxygen was higher after 8 weeks than that on admission(P ﹤ 0. 05);lung function and blood gas analysis and the score of dyspnea were superior after 8 weeks to those on admission in the observation group(P ﹤ 0. 05);the indexes mentioned above were superior in the observation group to the control group after 8 weeks (P ﹤ 0. 05);the physical function,bodily pain,vitality and general health score were better after 8 weeks than those on admission in the control group(P ﹤ 0. 05);the indexes mentioned above were superior after 8 weeks than those on admission in the observation group(P ﹤0. 05);the indexes mentioned above were also superior in the observation group to the control group after 8 weeks(P ﹤ 0. 05). Conclu-sion:The holistic psychological nursing model applied to patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis during the treatment can improve the patient′s lung function and respiratory status so as to improve their quality of life.
