Abstract:Objective:To explore the effect of the improved venipuncture in elderly patients with moderate edema. Methods:240 elderly patients with moderate edema were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group(120 cases in each group). The tradi-tional venipuncture method was used in the control group and the improved venipuncture method was adopted in the observation group, the success rate of venipuncture was compared between the two groups. Results:The superficial venous filling degree and one - time success rate of venipuncture was significantly higher in the observation group than the control group(P < 0. 01);the puncture time, the score of vis-ual analogue scale(VAS)and incidence of venipuncture complications were significantly shorter and lower in the observation group than those in the control group(P < 0. 01). Conclusion:The improved venipuncture method for elderly patients with moderate edema can im-prove venous filling degree and the success rate of puncture, shorten the time and relieve the pain of the patients and reduce the incidence of complications.
