A study on the correlation between family care degree and psychological wel - being in elderly patients with chronic diseases

Abstract：Objective:To explore the relationship between family care degree and psychological well - being of elderly patients with chronic diseases. Methods:FAI and PWE were used to investigate 100 elderly patients with chronic diseases,and the correlation between family care degree and psychological well - being was analyzed. Results:The total score of FAI of elderly patients with chronic disease was 5. 73 ± 2. 51 points and the total score of PWE was higher in those who had higher family care degree than those who had lower family care degree(P < 0. 01);the correlation analysis showed that PWE and FAI scores were highly positive correlated(P < 0. 01). Conclusion:The lower family care degree is the important variable factors to affect psychological well - being of elderly patients with chronic diseases,so the improvement of family care degree can enhance their psychological well - being and mental health.
