Application of transtheoretical model of behavior change in self - care behavior of catheter in patients with peritoneal dialysis
Abstract:Objective:To explore the application effect of transtheoretical model of behavior change in self - care behavior of catheter in patients with peritoneal dialysis. Methods:90 patients with peritoneal dialysis were randomly divided into the observation group and the con-trol group(45 cases in each group). The conventional health education was conducted in the control group and nursing intervention was additionally provided for the patients in the observation group according to the transtheoretical model of behavior change, the intervention lasted for 6 months in the two groups. The self - care behavior of the patients was evaluated within one week after admission and after im-plementation of the intervention for 6 months and the incidence of catheter - induced complications and self - care behavior of the patients were observed and compared between the two groups after the intervention for 6 months. Results:The incidence of catheter - induced com-plications,the self - care ability of the catheter and the self - care behavior were less and better in the observation group than the control group(P < 0. 05). Conclusion:The nursing intervention based on transtheoretical model of behavior change can improve the self - care a-bility and the health behavior of patients with peritoneal dialysis.
