Effect of motivational interviewing on self - management behavior and medication compliance of patients with CHF
Abstract:Objective:To explore the effect of motivational interviewing(MI)on self - management behavior and medication compliance in patients with chronic heart failure(CHF). Methods:60 patients with CHF were randomly divided into the observation group and the con-trol group(30 cases in each group). The MI intervention method was adopted in the observation group;the routine health intervention method was used in the control group. The change of self - management behavior and medication compliance of the patients was compared between the two groups before and after the intervention. Results:The scores of the 4 dimensions of self - management behavior were supe-rior after the intervention to those before the intervention in the observation group and they were superior in the observation group to those in the control group after the intervention(P < 0. 05);the difference in the comparison of medication compliance of the patients was statis-tically significant between the two groups(P < 0. 05). Conclusion:Application of MI intervention in patients with CHF can significantly improve the patient′s self - management level and enhance their medication compliance.
