Effect of self-management education on compliance behavior and quality of life of patients with glaucoma
Abstract:Objective:To explore the effect of self-management education on compliance behavior and quality of life of patients with glaucoma. Methods:120 hospitalized patients with glaucoma were randomly divided into the control group and the intervention group(60 cases in each group). The conventional health education was conducted in the control group and the self-management education interven-tion was additionally implemented in the intervention group. The compliance behavior and quality of life of the patients were compared be-tween the two groups after six months. Results:The compliance behavior of the patients in the intervention group was better than that in the control group(P﹤0. 05);the score of quality of life of the patients was higher in the intervention group than the control group(P﹤0. 05). Conclusion:The self-management education can improve the compliance behavior and quality of life of patients with glaucoma.
