Abstract:Objective:To investigate the effect of early mother-neonate skin contact on neonatal behavioral state and puerperae. Meth-ods:110 puerperae and neonates were randomly divided into the study group and the control group( 55 puerperae and neonates in each group). The routine obstetric nursing intervention was conducted in the control group and the early mother-neonate skin contact interven-tion was adopted in the study group, the duration of crying and crying times within 1 hour and 6 hours after childbirth, the temperature changes at birth and after 2 hours of childbirth, the effect and pattern of the first breastfeeding and postpartum uterine involution of puerpe-rae were compared between the two groups. Results:The duration of crying and crying times within 1 hour and 6 hours after childbirth were shorter and fewer in the study group than the control group(P﹤0. 05);the temperature changes of neonates after 2 hours of child-birth was superior to that at birth in the study group and it was superior in the study group to that in the control group(P﹤0. 05);the success rate of the first breastfeeding in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P﹤0. 01);after 40 days of follow-up,the rate of pure breastfeeding in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P﹤0. 05);the postpartum uterine involution of puerperae was significantly better in the study group than the control group(P﹤0. 05). Conclusion:The early mother-neonate skin contact can effectively improve neonatal behavioral state, temperature level and breastfeeding rate and can ac-celerate the postpartum uterine involution of puerperae.
