Effect of multiple continuous nursing on postoperative mental symptoms and ADL in patients with cerebral hemisphere atrophy-induced secondary epilepsy
Abstract:Objective:To explore the effect of multiple continuous nursing on postoperative mental symptoms and activities of daily liv-ing( ADL)in patients with cerebral hemisphere atrophy-induced secondary epilepsy. Methods:20 patients with cerebral hemisphere at-rophy-induced secondary epilepsy after operation were randomly divided into the experimental group(n=12)and the control group(n=8). The routine health education for the discharged patients was implemented in the control group;the multiple continuous nursing was additionally carried out in the experimental group. The SCL-90 and ADL scale were used to assess the patientsˊconditions in the two groups. Results:After discharge for 12 months, the scores of interpersonal sensitivity, depression, hostility, paranoia and psychotic symptoms of the patients in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group and ADL score was significantly higher in the experimental group than the control group(P﹤0. 05). Conclusion:Implementation of the multiple continuous nursing inter-vention can relieve the patientsˊbad mood and improve the ability of self-care.
