Application of situational health education in patients with hip replacement surgery

Abstract:Objective:To explore the application method of situational health education in patients with total hip replacement (THR)surgery and investigate its effect.Methods:100 patients who received THR surgery from Jan.to Dec.2013 were selected and taken as the control group and other 108 patients from Jan.to Dec.2014 were taken as the observation group.The patients in the control group were given conventional health education on prevention of postoperative deep venous thrombosis of lower extremity (DVT) and the patients in the observation group were provided the situational health education on prevention of postoperative DVT.The effect of health education was compared between the two groups.Resuhs:The incidence of DVT was lower in the observation group than that in the control group(P <0.05);the satisfaction rate of health education and awareness rate of health knowledge was higher in the observation group than the control group (P < 0.05).Conclusion:The situational health education can effectively prevent the incidence of DVT after THR surgery and improve patient's satisfaction with health education and awareness rate of health knowledge.
