Abstract:Objective:To investigate the effect of early enteral nutrition (EEN) on postoperative nutritional support in patients with primary liver cancer and to compare with the effect of parentera] nutrition (PN).Methods:78 patients undergoing Surgery for primary liver cancer were randomly divided into EEN group and PN group (39 cases in each group) according to the time sequence of operation. The patients in the two groups were respectively provided EEN and PN for 7 days after operation and the clinical effect of nutritional support was evaluated in the two groups. Results:No serious complications or death occurred in all patients during the study. The levels of CD4 + and CD4 +/CD8 + of the patients were significantly higher on the 8th day after operation than those one day before operation in EEN group (P < 0.05);the degree of the recovery of IgA and the levels of CD4 + and CD4 +/CD8 + of the patients on the 8th day after operation were significantly higher in EEN group than those in PN group (P < 0.05);the incidence of adverse reactions and postoperative complications was significantly lower in EEN group than PN group (P < 0.05);the time of anal exhaust and nutrition-related costs was earlier and less in EEN group than PN group (P < 0.05).Conclusion:The EEN applied to postoperative nutritional support can improve the intestinal function and immune function of patients with primary liver cancer after operation and reduce the incidence of postoperative infectious complications and the nutrition-related costs.
