Effect of comprehensive nursing intervention on the gastrointestinal reaction and sleep quality of patients with chemotherapy for cancer

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the effect of comprehensive nursing intervention on the gastrointestinal reaction and sleep quality of patients with advanced cancer treated with chemotherapy.Methods:130 advanced cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group (65 cases in each group).The routine nursing care was taken in the control group and the comprehensive nursing intervention was implemented in the observation group,the gastrointestinal reaction and the score of sleep quality of the patients were compared between the two groups.Results:The incidence of anorexia of the patients in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P <0.05);the incidence of nausea and vomiting in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P <0.05);the scores of asleep time,sleeping time and sleep quality of the patients and the score of pharmaceutical hypnosis were lower in the observation group than those in the control group (P <0.05).Conclusion:The comprehensive nursing interven-tion in the treatment of advanced cancer patients with chemotherapy can significantly alleviate the gastrointestinal reaction and improve the quality of sleep.
