Effect of the extended nursing care on self - management behavior and disease control of patients with bronchial asthma
Abstract:Objective:To investigate the effect of the extended nursing care on self - management behavior and disease control of pa-tients with bronchial asthma. Methods:71 patients with bronchial asthma were randomly divided into the study group(n = 35)and the con-trol group(n = 36). The traditional nursing model was applied in the control group and the extended nursing care after discharge was addi-tionally provided for the patients in the study group. The self - management behavior questionnaire and asthma control test(ACT)were used to evaluate the self - management behavior and asthma control level of patients before and after intervention for 3 months. Results:Af-ter 3 months,the total score of self - management behavior and the score of each item in the study group were significantly increased com-pared with the control group,the difference was statistically significant between the two groups(P < 0. 01). Conclusion:The extended nurs-ing care can improve self - management behavior and asthma control level in patients with bronchial asthma,which provides an effective method for the management of patients with bronchial asthma.
