Abstract:Objective:To explore the clinical effect of fumigation with the Chinese medicine combined with ultra short wave therapy and nursing methods in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis(KOA). Methods:98 KOA patients were randomly divided into the control group(n =48)and the treatment group(n =50). The patients in the control group were treated with oral diacerein capsules and the patients in the treatment group were treated with the extra fumigation with the Chinese medicine combined with ultra short wave therapy. The clinical effect and the scores of the Western Ontario and McMaster University Osteoarthritis Index(WOMAC),swelling in the knee joint and tenderness scores of the patients before and after the treatment were observed in the two groups. Results:The clinical curative effect was significantly bet-ter in the treatment group than that in the control group(P ﹤0. 05);the scores of WOMAC and scores of swelling in the knee joint and ten-derness of the patients were significantly lower in the treatment group than those in the control group(P ﹤0. 05,P ﹤0. 01). Conclusion:Ap-plication of fumigation with the Chinese medicine combined with ultra short wave therapy can significantly improve the clinical symptoms and signs of KOA patients and the curative effect of the treatment is definite. The treatment method is simple and welcomed by the patients.
