Application of CNP in patients with permanent colostomy
Abstract：Objective:To explore the method of applying clinical nursing pathway(CNP)to patients with permanent colostomy and in-vestigate its effect. Methods:216 patients undergoing permanent colostomy were divided into the control group and the observation group (108 cases in each group). The patients in the control group were given routine nursing care and the patients in the observation group were provided nursing care according to CNP,and then the effect of nursing care were compared between the two groups. Results:There were sta-tistically significant differences in the comparison of self - care status of the patients before discharge and the incidence of skin inflamma-tion around the stoma after surgery for 12 months between the two groups(P ﹤ 0. 05);the scores of quality of life of the patients were higher after discharge for 3 and 12 months than those after discharge for one month in the two groups and the scores of quality of life of the pa-tients were higher in the observation group than the control group(P ﹤ 0. 05). Conclusion:Application of CNP can improve the self - care ability of patients with permanent colostomy and can prevent the incidence of skin inflammation around the stoma so as to improve the qual-ity of life of the patients.
