Effect of thermal moXibustion on postoperative patients with PCA complicated with urinary retention
Abstract:Objective:To investigate the effect of thermal moxibustion on postoperative patients with patient - controlled analgesia (PCA)complicated with urinary retention. Methods:93 patients with PCA complicated with urinary retention were randomly divided into the control group(n = 46)and the experimental group(n = 47). The patients in the control group were treated with psychological guid-ance and induced urination;the patients in the experimental group were provided thermal moxibustion based on the methods in the control group. The scores of symptoms and clinical effects were observed and compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results:There were statistically significant differences in the comparison of scores of symptoms before and after treatment in the two groups(P ﹤0. 05);the differences in the comparison of scores of symptoms were statistically significant between the two groups after treatment(P ﹤0. 01);the total effective rate in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group(P ﹤ 0. 01). Conclusion:Application of thermal moxibustion can alleviate the symptoms of urinary retention of patients with PCA after operation.
