Effect of systematic nursing intervention on self - management ability and blood glucose control in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic patients
Abstract:Objective:To investigate the effect of systematic nursing intervention on self - management ability and blood glucose control in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic patients. Methods:120 newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic patients were divided into the control group and the intervention group(60 cases in each group)according to the time sequence on admission. The routine nursing care was taken in the control group and the systematic nursing intervention was adopted in the intervention group, the self - management ability and awareness of the diabetes - related knowledge of the patients and the detection indexes of diabetes were compared between the two groups. Results:The self - management ability and awareness of the diabetes - related knowledge of the patients were better in intervention group than those in the control group after the intervention(P ﹤ 0. 01);FBG,postprandial 2h BG and HbA1c of the patients were significantly lower in the in-tervention group than the control group after discharge for 3,6 and 12 months(P ﹤ 0. 05);the number of exercise of the patients in the in-tervention group was more than that in the control group(P ﹤ 0. 05);there were statistically significant differences in the comparison of FBG,postprandial 2h BG,HbA1c and exercise frequency of the patients after discharge for 3,6 and 12 months with those before admission in the intervention group(P ﹤ 0. 05). Conclusion:The systematic nursing intervention can significantly improve the self - management a-bility and cognition on the disease in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic patients and effectively control the blood glucose level.
