Effect of comprehensive nursing intervention on the advanced rectal cancer patients with synchronous radiotherapy and chemotherapy

Abstract：Objective:To explore the effect of comprehensive nursing intervention on the advanced rectal cancer patients with synchro-nous radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Methods:43 patients undergoing synchronous radiotherapy and chemotherapy for the advanced rectal cancer were randomly divided into the observation group(n = 22)and the control group(n = 21). The patients in the observation group were provided comprehensive nursing intervention and the patients in the control group were given routine nursing care,the patient's com-pliance of treatment,adverse reactions and patient's satisfaction with nursing care were compared between the two groups. Results:The total number of patients who fully completed the courses of therapy in the observation group was more than that in the control group( P ﹤0. 05);the patient's satisfaction with nursing care was better in the observation group than the control group(P ﹤ 0. 05);the incidence of adverse reactions was lower in the observation group than the control group(P ﹤ 0. 05);the mental state of the patients was better in the observation group than the control group(P ﹤ 0. 05). Conclusion:The comprehensive nursing intervention can effectively alleviate the psy-chological distress of the patients and reduce the incidence of adverse reactions in the treatment of the advanced rectal cancer with synchro-nous radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
