Abstract：Objective:To explore the feasibility of PICC in the upper arm of the operative side of esophageal cancer patients with surger-y. Methods:113 patients who received esophageal cancer surgery were randomly divided into the operative side group(n = 53)and non op-erative side group(n = 60). The PICC was performed in different methods in the two groups. Results:The incidence of finger swelling was lower in the operative side group than that in the non operative side group in the second day after operation(P < 0. 05). Conclusion:It is feasible to perform PICC in the upper arm of the operative side of esophageal cancer patients with surgery.
