Effect of FTS concept on elderly patients with TURP - K

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the effect of fast track surgery(FTS)concept on elderly patients undergoing transurethral resection of the prostate(TURP - K). Methods:138 patients who underwent TURP - K were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group(69 cases in each group). The conventional perioperative nursing care was taken in the control group;the nursing care in the light of FTS concept was implemented in the observation group. The effect of nursing care was compared between the two groups. Results:There were statistically significant differences between the two groups in the comparison of postoperative hospitalization time,hospitalization expenses and the infusion volume,the incidence of chills and bladder spasm in the three days after operation(P < 0. 05). Conclusion:A-doption of FTS concept in the nursing care of elderly patients with TURP - K can shorten the hospitalization time,reduce the cost of hospi-talization and decrease the infusion volume and complications in the three days after operation.
