Effect of training and guidance of living and social skils on the viability and social functions of patients with schizophrenia

Abstract:Objective:To explore the effect of training and guidance of living and social skills on the viability and social functions of pa-tients with schizophrenia. Methods:112 hospitalized patients with schizophrenia were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group (56 cases in each group). The patients in the observation group received training and guidance on living and social skills and the patients in the control group received routine nursing care,the psychiatric symptoms,viability and social function of the patients were compared between the two groups. Results:The scores of anxiety,depression,vitality,mental disorder and hostility were lower in the obser-vation group than those in the control group after nursing care (P<0. 05);the scores of ADL were lower and the scores of viability were higher in the observation group than those in the control group (P<0. 05);the scores of social functions like social withdrawal,social activ-ities,personal life,responsibility and planning were lower in the observation group than the control group (P<0. 05). Conclusion:The training and guidance of living and social skills can reduce the symptoms of patients with schizophrenia and improve their ability of ADL and social functions.
