Effect of comprehensive nursing intervention on the compliance and quality of life of HAART-treated HIV/ AIDS patients

Abstract:Objective:To investigate the effect of comprehensive nursing intervention on the compliance and quality of life of patients with HIV/ AIDS treated by highly active antiretroviral therapy ( HAART) . Methods:122 HIV/ AIDS patients were randomly divided into the study group and the control group (61 cases in each group). The patients in the control group received conventional health education and the patients in the study group were given extra comprehensive nursing intervention. The treatment compliance and quality of life of the patients were compared between the two groups. Results:The treatment compliance and quality of life of the patients was better in the study group than that in the control group after 4 weeks of the intervention (P<0. 05). Conclusion:The comprehensive nursing intervention can enhance the treatment compliance and improve the quality of life of patients with HIV / AIDS treated by HAART.
