Analysis of the factors of infection of MRSA in lCU and countermeasures

Abstract：Objective:To analyze the factors of infection of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus ( MRSA) in ICU in order to find the nursing strategies. Methods:The data (from Jan. to Feb. 2013) of infection of MRSA in ICU in our hospital were collected and an-alyzed. Results:The infection of MRSA occurred in 6 patients in ICU and the infection rate was 4. 72%,of which the incidence was 6. 67%in January and 2. 00% in February (P<0. 05). The factors to cause the infection of MRSA were poor hand hygiene of the nursing staff, more invasive operation and unreasonable use of antibiotics. Conclusion:The infection of MRSA is relatively high in ICU and it results in high fatality rate of patients. The targeted prevention and control measures can effectively reduce the nosocomial infection rate.
