Abstract:Objective:To discuss the influence of family intervention on mental health and coping style of family members of patients with internet addiction disorder (IAD). Methods:120 family members of patients with IAD were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group (60 cases in each group). The family members in the control group only accompanied the patients during hos-pitalization;the family members in the observation group participated in the whole process of nursing care and the treatment during hospi-talization. The scores of SCL-90 and SCSQ were compared between the two groups before the intervention and after the intervention for 20 weeKs. Results:There were statistically significant differences in the comparison of interpersonal sensitivity and paranoid factors after the intervention with those before the intervention in the observation group (P<0. 05);the differences of the scores of somatization,depres-sion,anxiety and hostility and the total average score were statistically significant after the intervention compared with those before the in-tervention (P<0. 01);the scores of positive coping factors were higher and the scores of negative coping factors were lower in the observa-tion group than the control group (P<0. 01). Conclusion:Implementation of family intervention has a positive effect on patients with IAD and the intervention can effectively improve the mental health level and coping style of patients' family members.
