Effect of cognitive behavioral intervention on the negative emotions of elderly patients with acute heart failure

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the effect of cognitive behavioral intervention on the negative emotions of elderly patients with acute heart failure( AHF). Methods:86 elderly patients who were clinically diagnosed of AHF were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group(43 cases in each group). The patients in both groups were given symptomatic treatment and routine nursing care;in addi-tion,the patients in the observation group were given cognitive behavioral intervention,the anxiety and depression status of the patients and treatment effect were compared between the two groups after the intervention. Results:The scores of anxiety and depression of the patients were significantly lower in the observation group than those in the control group after the intervention(P<0. 05);the treatment effect was bet-ter in the observation group than the control group(P<0. 05). Conclusion:The cognitive behavioral intervention can effectively relieve the unhealthy emotions and promote the recovery of heart function of the elderly patients with AHF and it can also improve the clinical efficacy.
