lnvestigation on mental health and sympathy fatigue of clinical nurses

Abstract：Objective:To study the relationship between the mental health and the sympathy fatigue of clinical nurses. Methods:The questionnaire survey was conducted by using symptom checklist-90(SCL-90)and professional quality of life scale(ProQOL)to inves-tigate 300 clinical nurses,analyzing the relationship between the mental health and the sympathy fatigue of clinical nurses. Results:The to-tal score of SCL-90 of the nurses was significantly higher than the national norm(P<0. 01);the total score of sympathy scale of Pro-QOL,the secondary traumatic stress scale and physical & mental exhaustion scale was in the middle level;the correlation analysis showed that ProQOL and SCL-90 were significantly correlated(P<0. 05,P<0. 01). Conclusion:Hospital managers should pay much attention to the mental health and sympathy fatigue of clinical nurses and take corresponding intervention measures to improve their mental health.
