Abstract:Objective:To explore the effect of oral administration of probiotics in patients with colostomy. Methods:57 patients with co-lostomy(Miles operation)were randomly divided into the observation group(n = 30)and the control group(n = 27). The patients in the control group had natural defecation and the patients in the observation group had natural defecation combined with oral administration of probiotics. The clinical effect was compared between the two groups. Results:The intestinal flora detection result of the patients was better after operation than that before operation in the two groups(P < 0. 05);the detection results of Bacteroides,Bifidobacterium and Lactoba-cillus was better in the observation group than the control group after operation for one month(P < 0. 05);the intestinal flora detection re-sult was better in the observation group than the control group after operation for 3 months(P < 0. 05);the difference in the comparison of the incidence of diarrhea and abdominal distension was statistically significant between the two groups(P < 0. 05);the scores of patient's somatic function, psychological function and social function were higher in the observation group than the control group(P < 0. 05). Con-clusion:Oral administration of probiotics can improve the intestinal micro ecological environment and quality of life of the patients with co-lostomy after Miles operation.
