Abstract:Objective:To investigate and analyze the correlation between health literacy and treatment compliance in elderly patients with diabetes in order to provide basic data for the management of diabetic patients. Methods:The questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate 335 diagnosed diabetic patients over 60 years on health literacy and treatment compliance. Results:The total scores of health lit-eracy in elderly diabetic patients in Yanji city were 173. 56 + 63. 18 points,22. 39% of the patients lack of health literacy and 67. 46%of them are adequate in health literacy. The health literacy of the elderly patients was positively correlated with medication compliance, treatment compliance and behavior compliance(P < 0. 01);the main factors influencing the treatment compliance were the level of educa-tion,age,marital status and gender;the status of insurance,marital status,education level,course of disease and the level of health literacy were the main influencing factors of treatment compliance. Conclusion:The higher the level of health literacy of elderly patients is,the bet-ter the treatment compliance is.
