Abstract：Objective:To know the status and the influencing factors of anxiety and depression of elderly hypertensive patients through the investigation. Methods:The Self - rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and Self - rating Depression Scale(SDS)were used to assess the anxie-ty and depression of 224 elderly patients with hypertension. Results:the SAS score was 45. 46 + 8. 73 points and SDS score was 53. 03 +8. 98 points. The univariate analysis showed that gender,educational level,income status,complications,mode of complaint,etc. were the common influencing factors of anxiety and depression in elderly hypertensive patients. Conclusion:The psychological problems of elderly patients with hypertension cannot be ignored,so doctors should focus on prevention and taking the targeted measures so as to make a com-prehensive treatment.
