Abstract:Objective:To explore the application of continuous quality improvement in the relief of pain and negative emotion of elderly patients with hip fracture. Methods:68 elderly patients with hip fracture(admitted to hospital from January 2012 to December 2013)were taken as the object of study, and they were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group(34 cases in each group). The routine nursing care was taken in the control group and the continuous quality improvement was implemented in the observation group, the scores of Self - rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Self - rating Depression Scale(SDS)and Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)and patient sat-isfaction were compared between the two groups. Results:The scores of SAS and SDS were significantly lower in the observation group than the control group after the intervention(P < 0. 05);the VAS score in 24,48 and 72 hours after operation was significantly lower in the ob-servation group than the control group(P < 0. 05);the scores of patient satisfaction were significantly higher in the observation group than the control group(P < 0. 05);the ambulation time and average hospitalization time was shorter in the observation group than the control group(P < 0. 05). Conclusion:The continuous quality improvement can effectively relieve the patient's negative emotion and postoperative pain, shorten the hospitalization time and improve patient satisfaction.
