Analysis of application value of case management model in nursing care of breast cancer patients

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the application value of case management model in nursing care of breast cancer patients. Methods:65 patients diagnosed of breast cancer by pathology(May 2010 to April 2011)were taken as the control group and other 65 breast cancer patients diagnosed by pathology(May 2011 to April 2012)were taken as the observation group. The patients in the control group were giv-en routine nursing care and the patients in the observation group were additionally provided case management,the satisfaction rate and treatment compliance of the patients and the rate of loss to follow - up were compared between the two groups. Results:The satisfaction rate and treatment compliance of the patients were significantly higher and better and the rate of loss to follow - up was significantly lower in the observation group than the control group(P < 0. 05). Conclusion:Application of the case management model can effectively improve the quality of nursing care and the quality of life of the patients as well.
