Methods:100 primiparas were divided into the intervention group and the control group(50 cases in each group)according to the even and odd day of primiparas' visit, the nursing intervention was provided for the primiparas from 35th week of pregnancy to childbirth in the hospital. The conventional health education during pregnancy and nursing care was given to the primiparas in the control group and extra programmed nursing intervention was given to the primiparas in the intervention group. The cognitive behavior of primiparas was observed and compared between the two groups. Results:There were statistically significant differences in the comparison of prenatal anxiety, birth process,breast-feeding,postpartum bleeding and automatic micturition time of the primiparas between the two groups(P < 0. 05). Conclusion:The pro-grammed nursing intervention can improve the compliance of primiparas, relieve prenatal anxiety, reduce the volume of postpartum hemor-rhage,shorten the duration of labor and automatic micturition time and increase the breast - feeding rate.
