Effect of systematic respiratory tract nursing intervention on efficacy of surgery and quality of life of patients with lung cancer operation

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the effect of systematic respiratory tract nursing intervention on efficacy of surgery and quality of life of patients with lung cancer operation. Methods:90 lung cancer patients were randomly divided into the control group and the observa-tion group(45 cases in each group). The patients in the control group were given routine nursing care and the systematic respiratory tract nursing intervention was implemented in the observation group based on routine one. The average extraction time of thoracic drainage tube, the average hospitalization time and the incidence of postoperative complications like pleural effusion,pneumonia,atelectasis and respirato-ry failure were compared between the two groups and the quality of life of the patients in both groups was evaluated according to the change of KPS score before and after treatment. Results:The average extraction time of thoracic drainage tube and the average hospitalization time was significantly shorter in the observation group than the control group(P﹤0. 05);the incidence of postoperative complications was 6. 67﹪ in the observation and was significantly lower than 22. 22﹪ in the control group,the difference between the two groups was statistical-ly significant(P﹤0. 05);the KPS score increased after treatment in the two groups and the KPS score was significantly higher in the ob-servation group than the control group after treatment(P﹤0. 05). Conclusion:The systematic respiratory tract nursing intervention can ef-fectively shorten the hospitalization time,reduce the incidence of postoperative pulmonary complications and improve the quality of life of the patients.
