Abstract:Objective:To explore the efficacy of cognitive therapy in alleviating negative emotions and sense of pain in patients with chronic osteoarthritis. Methods:85 patients with chronic osteoarthritis were randomly divided into the observation group(n=43)and the control group(n=42). The routine nursing care was taken in the control group and the extra cognitive therapy was implemented in the ob-servation group. The improvement of the patients' compliance, mental status and the degree of pain was compared and analyzed between the two groups before and after intervention. Results:The patients' compliance was significantly higher in the observation group than that in the control group after intervention(P﹤0. 05);the scores of HAMA and HAMD were significantly lower in the observation group than those in the control group(P﹤0. 05);the degree of pain of the patients was significantly lower after intervention than that before intervention in the observation group(P﹤0. 05),and the difference in the comparison of the degree of pain of the patients before and after intervention was not statistically significant in the control group(P﹥0. 05). Conclusion:Application of cognitive therapy to patients with chronic osteoar-thritis can effectively relieve their negative emotions and the degree of pain.
