Effect of the extended nursing care on self-care ability and health behavior in patients with COPD

Abstract:Objective:To investigate the effect of the extended nursing care on self-care ability and health behavior in patients with COPD. Methods:100 COPD patients were divided into the observation group and the control group(50 cases in each group). The tradition-al outpatient follow-up model was used in the control group;the extended follow-up nursing model was adopted in the observation group. The self-care ability scale and health behavior scale were used to evaluate the improvement of self-care ability and health behavior of the patients in both groups after they were discharged for 6 and 12 months. Results:The self-care ability and health behavior of the pa-tients were better in the observation group than the control group after one-year intervention(P﹤0. 05). Conclusion:The extended nurs-ing care has the significance in improving self-care ability and health behavior of the patients.
