Application of col aborative nursing model to the improvement of self-care ability and quality of life of the aged patients with COPD

Abstract:Objective:To discuss the application effect of collaborative care model( CCM)in the improvement of self-care ability and quality of life of the aged patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease( COPD). Methods:80 hospitalized aged patients with COPD were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group(40 cases in each group). The patients in the control group re-ceived routine nursing care and the CCM was additionally implemented in the experimental group. The self-care ability and life quality of the aged patients were assessed by using ESCA and SF-36,and the intervention effect was compared between the two groups. Results:There were statistically significant differences in the comparison of the scores of patientsˊself-care ability and quality of life between the two groups after the intervention(P<0. 05). Conclusion:Application of CCM can foster enthusiasm of the aged patients and their families to jointly participate in nursing care and can effectively improve the self-care ability and life quality of the patients.
