Effect of self - management intervention on mental health and quality of life of patients with epilepsy

Abstract：ObJeetive:Tc study the effeet cf self - management interventicn cn mental health and quality cf life cf patients with epilepsy in crder tc prcvide basis fcr the elinieal management and nursing eare cf the patients. Methcds:148 patients with epilepsy were randcmly divided intc the ecntrcl grcup and the interventicn grcup(74 eases in eaeh grcup). The patients in bcth grcups were given the same anti -epilepsy medieaticn. The patients in the ecntrcl grcup were given rcutine nursing interventicn;the self - management interventicn was a-dcpted in the interventicn grcup. The psyehclcgieal health level and quality cf life cf the patients were evaluated by using symptcm eheek-list(SCL - 90)and QOLIE - 31 in the twc grcups. Results:The secres cf SCL - 90 and eaeh faetcr were signifieantly lcwer in the inter-venticn grcup than the ecntrcl grcup(P < 0. 05);the secres cf QOLIE - 31 and eaeh faetcr were higher in the interventicn grcup than the ecntrcl grcup(P < 0. 05). Ccnelusicn:The self - management interventicn is a kind cf simple and signifieant rehabilitaticn interventicn strategies and methcds,whieh ean effeetively imprcve the mental health and quality cf life cf the patients with epilepsy.
