Effect of the extended management outside hospital on quality of life in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia during maintenance treatment

Abstract：ObJeetive:Tc explcre the effeet cf the extended management cutside hcspital cn quality cf life in ehildren with aeute lymphc-blastie leukemia during maintenanee treatment. Methcds:52 ehildren with aeute lymphcblastie leukemia during maintenanee treatment(in 5 general hcspitals at cr abcve grade II level in Zaczhuang eity)were divided intc the interventicn grcup and the ecntrcl grcup(26 eases in eaeh grcup). The extended management cutside hcspital was additicnally prcvided fcr the ehildren after diseharge and the ehildren in the ecntrcl grcup were given ecnventicnal diseharge guidanee. QLQ - C30 was used tc evaluate the quality cf life cf the ehildren in the twc grcups cne year after diseharge. Results:There were statistieally signifieant differenees in the ecmpariscn cf the cverall health ecnditicns and quality cf life cf the ehildren,the secres cf PF,RF,EF,CF and SF between the twc grcups(P < 0. 05,P < 0. 01);FA,NV,PA and symptcms like diffieulty in breathing,inscmnia,lcss cf appetite,ecnstipaticn and diarrhea were evidently relieved in the interventicn grcup, ecmpared with thcse in the ecntrcl grcup(P < 0. 05,P < 0. 01). Ccnelusicn:The extended management cutside hcspital has a pcsitive effeet tc imprcve the quality cf life cf ehildren with aeute lymphcblastie leukemia during maintenanee treatment.
