Abstract：Objective:To understand the status of sleep quality of nurses of a certain mental hospital at grade III level and the influen-cing factors so as to find the effective measures to improve the sleep quality of nurses. Methods:231 nurses of a certain mental hospital at grade III level in Shandong were selected by cluster sampling method,the sleep quality of them and the influencing factors were investiga-ted by Pittsburgh sleep quality index scale( PSQI). Results:The difference between PSQI score and the national norm was statistically sig-nificant(P<0. 01);21. 6% nurses had sleeping problems in different degree and the working years,shift and educational background were correlated with PSQI score of nurses(P<0. 05,P<0. 01). Conclusion:The incidence of sleeping problems are higher in the psychi-atric nurses than the normal population,nursing managers should make a scientific and rational arrangement of shifts,reform working sys-tem and improve environment so as to improve the sleep quality of nurses.
