lnvestigation and analysis on the current situation of value orientation of employment of undergraduate nursing students
Abstract:Objective:To investigate the job hunting concept and value orientation of employment of undergraduate nursing students and take effective measures to improve the employment rate of undergraduate nursing students in order to provide reference for the reform of higher nursing education. Methods:600 students of 4 grades of nursing faculty were surveyed by using the self-designed questionnaire. Re-sults:The employment intention of 79. 17% undergraduate nursing students was for clinical nursing work in the grade III hospital;the first choice factor of 61. 50% undergraduate nursing students was the income and welfare;39. 67% of undergraduate nursing students intended to go to economically developed areas or coastal area;69. 67% of undergraduate nursing students concerned about the standards and condi-tions of employment;87. 73% of undergraduate nursing students expected college to provide them the related information like employment policy and situation. There were statistically significant differences in the comparison of the value orientation of employment and attitude to-wards employment between the students enrolled in 2009 and in 2012(P<0. 05). Conclusion:The job hunting concept and value orienta-tion of employment of undergraduate nursing students is changing all the time,the administrators of the college should attach great impor-tance to the limitations and utilitarianism in their choice of employment and provide relevant employment information as much as possible.
