Effect of home visit on anxiety and depression status of patients with peritoneal dialysis

Abstract：Objective:To explore the effect of home visit on anxiety and depression status of patients with peritoneal dialysis. Methods:60 patients with peritoneal dialysis were randomly divided into the intervention group and the control group(30 cases in each group). The routine follow-up was made in the control group and the home visiting intervention was additionally carried out in the intervention group. The anxiety and depression status of the patients was assessed by using SDS and SAS in the two groups. Results:The anxiety and depres-sion scores of the patients were lower after the intervention than those before the intervention in the two groups and the scores were also lower in the intervention group than the control group(P<0. 01);the incidence of anxiety and depression in any grade was lower in the intervention group than the control group(P<0. 05). Conclusion:The home visit,as an effective follow-up method,can relieve the anxie-ty and depression status of patients with peritoneal dialysis.
