lnvestigation on the current situation of application of skil s of TCM in Nanjing University of TCM
Abstract：Objective:To investigate the current situation of studentsˊlearning,mastering and applying the skills of TCM in Nanjing Uni-versity of TCM in order to understand the studentsˊawareness of the skills of TCM,beliefs in utilizing the skills and the behavior to take care of themselves by applying the skills. Methods:The self-designed questionnaire was used to conduct a survey on 400 students of Nan-jing University of TCM. Results:Those students who had a better understanding of the skills of TCM accounted for 75. 6%,those who didnˊt understand completely accounted for 4. 6% and those who heard about but dⅢdnˊt use Ⅲt accounted for 19. 8%;the application of the skills was not popular,those who frequently use them(≥4 times / month)accounted for 6. 1% and regularly use them(one or two times a week)accounted for 2. 1%;moxibustion,Gua Sha and acupoint massage ranked in the top 3 among the 7 investigated skills and ear acu-point treatment,acupuncture,cupping and hot ironing were rarely used. Conclusion:The teaching of TCM skills in the colleges and universi-ties should further be improved and the surrounding of applying the skills to personal healthcare will actively be created.
